April 13, 2023: Pinnacle Award Winners

The 2023 Cornerstone League Marketing & Business Development Council Pinnacle Awards ceremony was held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 and Tarrant County’s Credit Union received the following awards in these categories:

  • Financial Education; 1st Place; recipient, Melissa Burleson, Training & Engagement Manager
  • New website; 1st Place, recipient, Andrea Spencer, Marketing Manager

 

September 29, 2022: Lily Newfarmer inducted into the America's Credit Union Museum 'HERSTORY' exhibit

Lily Newfarmer was one of 12 inductees honored on September 29, 2022, in Manchester, NH at the America’s Credit Union Museum.Ā  The “HERSTORY’ exhibit inside the museum was created to pay homage to those women who have paved the way through thought-and-action-leadership, in the credit union movement throughout its rich history.

June 2022: Lily Newfarmer named Top Ten in the inaugural Women on Work (WOW)

Lily Newfarmer was named in the Top Ten in the inaugural Women on Work (WOW) contest, sponsored by CRMNEXT, CU Sol, and America’s Credit Union Museum. The WOW (Women On Work) contest was created to celebrate inspiring women in the credit union ecosystem who are doing extraordinary work to move the movement forward.

May 2022: Lily Newfarmer was presented with the "Distinguished Service"

Lily Newfarmer was presented with the “Distinguished Service” award from the Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions at the meeting held, Tuesday, May 17, 2022.

November 18, 2020: 1st Place Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award (National)

CUNA’s National Awards Committee announced the 2020 recipients of the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award, the Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award and the Desjardins Awards for Financial Education. The awards, which are given in several credit union asset sizes, were selected among the winning entries at a league level.

ā€œCongratulations to the 2020 CUNA Award winners who are being recognized for their commitment to their communities, particularly in a time when theyā€™re needed the most,ā€ said CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle. ā€œWe celebrate their efforts in social responsibility, the credit union philosophy and financial education.ā€

The Dora Maxwell Award is presented to credit unions for outstanding social responsibility projects in their communities. First-place winners for the Dora Maxwell Award include:

  • East River FCU (Madison, S.D.)
  • Tarrant Countyā€™s Credit Union (Fort Worth, Texas)
  • First Commerce Credit Union (Tallahassee, Fla.)
  • Metro Credit Union (Boston, Mass.)
  • Mid-Michigan Chapter of Credit Unions (Mich.)

This award was given in recognition of the Crockpots for Veterans event we coordinated in July 2019.
